The Road Taken
The New Builder
Perez, Feddie Marc S.
Literary
Each morning I push myself up
and walk the road where you
are not among the people I meet
Yet I search for you in the crowd
despite knowing that our paths
might never cross again
I only wish that you were here with me
as I go along life’s unknown path
But you were a corner I left behind
and I just cannot go back
It pains me that I cannot correct past mistakes
I cannot right wrong turns
That nothing is changed by the poems I made
I still trudge this road alone
Yet tired as I am, I’ll still walk this road
To corners my feet have never touched
Who knows where its path might take me
The road taken might just lead me back
